On October, 31, a crash that took place on the side of an Antelope Valley Freeway transition road in Santa Clarita when a van collided into a parked construction truck. Four people suffered minor injuries.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash on the northbound freeway south of Sand Canyon Road was reported at 3:05 a.m.
The CHP also stated that a man, driving a 1997 GMC Safari van, “allowed his car to exit the No. 3 lane, just south of Sand Canyon Road, and enter the gore point, which delineates the No. 3 lane– the exit lane to Sand Canyon Road– and No. 2 lane.”
“It collided with a parked construction truck and trailer belonging to Peterson/Chase Inc.,” the CHP said. They also say that the force of the crash, “pushed the construction truck and trailer forward, striking (two) employees… who were standing outside and to the front of the vehicle, retrieving construction signs.”
The two workers — along with the motorist and a female passenger– were taken to a hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
The CHP reported that alcohol was not a factor.
